Cornus kousa "Norman Hadden" Description japonski dren "Norman Hadden" Description Large, bushy, slow growing deciduous shrub (up to 5 m), eventually small, multi-stemmed tree. Growth broad (up to 5 m), side branches horizontal, slightly hanging. Leaves broad-oval, wrinkled, dark green, underneath blue-green, autumn colour yellow-orange to bright red. Flowers green, tiny, in round inflorescence, surrounded by 4 wide bracts (up to 6 cm) cream white, later pink. Posebno freely flowering. Flowering period: June.   • These plants grow well in sun or in partial shade. Usually they tolerate more sun and heat if given enough moisture; in partial or light shade they need less moisture.

  • Decidious have woody stems (i. e. tree trunk and branches) and are also called woody plants or trees. Leaves are normally broad, soft and thin.

  • The plant develops new leaves or needles every spring, which dropp off in autumn. Herbaceous plants can die completely in above ground section and grow back in the spring.
