Description
Large, bushy, wide-spread shrub (H 3-4 m, W 2,5 m), eventually smaller tree. Bark on young branches glossy light grey, later dark brown-grey. Branches thorny, densely arranged. Leaves narowly lanceolate (2-6 cm), silver-grey to grey-green. Flowers tiny, brown-green, in clusters, not remarkable. Flowering period: March-April. Flowers mostly female, plant needs a polinator for better cropping. Fruits ovate (8-10 mm), fleshy, light orange. Very high yielding variety. Ripening time: September-October. Attracts butterflies, bees and birds. Undemanding, well-growing shrub, suitable for poor and dry, sandy soils, and stabilizing soil on slopes.
